The Carmelite Monastery is located approximately 2 1/2 miles south from Carmel. Start from the intersection of Ocean Ave. & Highway One. Go South on Highway One for approximately 2 1/2 miles...(you'll even see a sign that says "Big Sur 26 miles" along the way). Keep going on Highway One  and as you drive over the hill and start to come down, the Monastery is on your left up in the field just as you see in the picture. There will be a driveway on the left hand side of the highway that you can turn up into. Here you can drive up to the Monastery.
